The Giving Center was Rachel and Shannon's greatest hope and vision when they literally sat their living room in front of a white board and mapped out the frame work for the entire organization in late 2018. The Giving Center was the "big goal" when they officially formed the charity in February of 2019. Just over a year later, they were able to acquire the space to bring it to life! The Outreach Connection is finally in position to be able to provide the community with a welcoming space that serves many purposes. By providing a wide array of supportive services to those in need, a variety of volunteer opportunities, and a strong line up of community friendly classes and programs, the aim is to strengthen the connections to our neighbors from all walks of life through acts of kindness and compassion.
The Community Classroom:
We have a large open space that is able to seat approximately 40 people. This space is a rent-able place for your next class or gathering and will be the focal point for our community nights and other programs.
This will serve as a central point for our volunteer opportunities for all age ranges. The volunteer center is where ALL are welcome. Volunteers quickly find themselves connected to each other while functioning as a vital part of our efforts to help those in hardship. Our team of volunteers is deeply engaged in our efforts and real friendships seem to form quickly. We celebrate diversity and fostering incredibly positive relationships with our community. Without the support and dedication of our volunteers, we could not possibly have such a positive impact in our community.
We have smaller rooms available to rent for a nominal fee which is used to help offset our operating costs. These warm and inviting rooms have diverse set ups that make them ideal for meetings, seminars, book clubs, game nights, or other small occasions. Each room can comfortably fit up to 10 or 12 people.
Client Services: The Foundations Program
The Foundations Program is at the heart of what we do to help those in our community. This is where we provide those we support with much needed resources, tools, and basic necessities to work towards a more secure future. From the distribution of supplies at no charge, to mentoring, resume building, interview skills, financial literacy workshops and more, it is our goal to be a single destination with a host of benefits. The supplies at the giving center include a wide selection of clothing, shoes, kitchen & household essentials, bedding, towels, a comprehensive bra bank, and hygiene supplies. We also work to connect individuals who may need additional supplies and/or services with organizations that can help them.
Our resource room is equipped with knowledge based books and computers and is open to the public by appointment only. This allows those who do not have internet access to come and print out materials, do school work, or apply for jobs online. This is also a space where our mentors work to assist those who request it.
The Giving Pantry provides those in our community who are in the most fragile population with essential food, hygiene, cleaning, and pet supplies. We have appointments throughout the week, food drives, and off hours appointments for those who are unable to make it during regular hours. It is our goal to make access to food as easy as we can for those who need it most.
