The Outreach Connection pantry prides itself on creating a welcoming and dignified experience. From the moment clients walk through our doors they are greeted with friendly, smiling faces and the dignity of choice. Our unique approach allows clients to use shopping carts and shopping lists (based on family size) to shop our shelves directly. This allows the client to have the power of choice and also helps minimize waste. We have designed our pantry to look much like a small country market, where items are displayed for clients to view before choosing. This benefits those with dietary restrictions, allergies, and more since they can look at the item packaging before taking it home.

Our pantry also includes our Resource Mentors. These individuals are available to our clients to help provide essential resources that are the building blocks for a better tomorrow. Clients come to our pantry because it is a last resort for them. They often come to us frustrated, frazzled, overwhelmed, burnt out, or just feeling defeated. Many times, all of the above! There are SO many beneficial programs out there to ease their burdens, but they may not be aware of them. This is where we step in by providing the information about other resources available. We hope that by providing essential supplies, support to navigate other services in the area, and help in making critical decisions about next steps, that our neighbors in need will be able to create a stronger foundation to build up from.
